The Brando, French Polynesia

Tetiaroa, French Polynesia

Part of Private Islands Collection

In July 2014 a new luxury resort, The Brando, opened on this breathtakingly beautiful private atoll. The Brando is unique in concept and scope, combining environmental purity, luxury and Polynesian charm into an exceptional experience.

Marlon Brando's private island in the Tetiaroa islets lies just 50 kms North of Tahiti and is accessible with a 20-minute light aircraft flight that takes you on a breathtakingly beautiful journey up high over these 12 motus that form a ring around the inner lagoon which is impassable by ships keeping it in a pristine state. Airlines from around the world offer flights to Faa’a International Airport in Papeete, Tahiti. From Tahiti it’s a short but spectacular 20-minute flight to Tetiaroa onboard Air Tetiaroa.

Every villa is on a white sand beach, has its own outdoor eating and private beach area, its own private pool, soft, cozy furnishings, large windows that let you indulge in the sun, the breeze and lagoon views, and modern conveniences such as a media room. And while enjoying the villa you will have the satisfaction of knowing that everything that surrounds you has been designed around clean, renewable energy sources. The air conditioning is powered by salt water from deep in the ocean and there is a solar energy station on the island as well as a biofuel thermal power station fuelled by coconut oil.

Varua Polynesian spa is a natural haven of serenity nestled on the shores of a soothing pond in the heart of Motu Onetahi. This is the spot where the Tahitian royal family retreated to relax or indulge in rituals of beauty. In the evenings enjoy a fabulous dinner in the Gastronomic Restaurant Mutiny with an intimate atmosphere accommodating just 22 guests or for something a little more relaxed dine at the Beachcomber Cafe or enjoy an in room dining experience or a private dinner for two on the beach. Sip cocktails at Bob's Bar with your feet in the sand or enjoy panoramic views over the lagoon from Bar Manu.
