Just metres from the main gondola at Médran, the hotel is part of a development including shops and restaurants built around the newly created Place Blanche – now the end of the remodelled main piste back into the resort. Most of Verbier’s shops, restaurants and nightspots are located along the 500-metre road between here and Place Centrale.
All spacious, with large wooden balconies. Luxuriant beds, imaginative lighting, floor-to-ceiling windows, the typical mix of fabrics from leather to faux-fur to lycra, plus a glass, see-through gas fire, also visible from the bathroom: all Swiss white and reds, with zingy Bliss toiletries.
The boot room (airy, big windows, squishy sofa) is also the “mountain concierge” office, which organises activities from heli-skiing to snowshoeing, tuition and equipment hire. There’s also a spa area with nine treatment rooms (including two couples’ rooms), gym and indoor/outdoor pool.
