OVERVIEW

Rocco Forte's Hotel de Rome opened in the heart of Berlin in October 2006.Hotel de Rome is located on Bebelplatz, off Unter den Linden. This is one of the few luxury hotels in Berlin located in an original historical building making use of its full architectural splendour and thereby providing an authentic Berlin experience.The ornate and classical design of the original building has been given a contemporary twist by designer Tommaso Ziffer, who also designed the Hotel de Russie in Rome.

Location

The Hotel de Rome is located on Bebelplatz, off Unter den Linden, not far from the Brandenburg Gate and opposite the Humboldt University in the Mitte district at the heart of Berlin. Bebelplatz is one of Berlin's most impressive squares with its imposing classical buildings; to the right of the hotel is the Opera House and, to the left, the former royal library, now the university law school.

Accomodation

The 146 rooms, including 37 suites, are all equipped with the very latest in technological facilities, including flat screens and internet access. Some are even provided with DVD players and iPod docking stations. All bathrooms have separate bathtubs and glass-walled shower cabins, limestone washstands and attractive mosaic decorations. The generously proportioned, elegant suites have separate dining areas, walk-in cupboards, dressing rooms and separate guest toilets.

Services

The wonderful interplay of colour with the golden Bisazza mosaic gives visitors the impression they are swimming in gold and luxuriating in the past. The black marble tiles on the wall and floor were kept in the same format as the bank's deposit boxes. The restaurant seats 120 and looks onto a large external terrace which will be used for al fresco dining during the summer months. Our chefs offer a cuisine based on traditional Mediterranean cooking.
