In 1876, Eduard Sacher founded the Hotel Sacher in Vienna. Soon after its creation, the Sacher became a world famous meeting point for politicians, artists and the aristocracy and it still is.
Hotel Sacher is directly in the city centre, close to the pedestrian shopping area Kärntner Straße, opposite the Opera House and only a short walk away from St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the Hofburg Imperial Palace and the elegant Ringstraße, a road which boasts an impressive array of Vienna’s major sites, such as the Burgtheater Imperial Court Theatre and the City Hall.
The internationally renowned French interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon has worked with us to deliver style and comfort with the distinctive Sacher stamp throughout the entire hotel. They have made sure that the most beautiful historic interiors and interior decor – such as our amazing original chandeliers – have been retained. At the same time they have added stylish new features to enhance the Sacher experience.
