The city of Florence is considered the birthplace of Renaissance which means that once you get there, you won’t be able to choose which museum to check first. People that shaped the history as we know it created here some of the most astonishing works of our civilization. But as much as we love to spend time admiring to the Botticelli’s “The Birth of Venus“ at the Uffizi Gallery or Duomo cathedral, we also love the contemporary creations that shape the future of the city. New ideas, crafts, and art inspired us to share with you the fantastic but less-known places where you can enjoy the enchanting modern-day Tuscany.

Wine – state-of-the-art since 1385

The grandiose vineyards of Tuscany always come with centuries-old castles and details that stood the test of time. The one that showed us that there is a way of looking differently at the art of wine making is the Antinori nel Chianti Classico winery which opened its doors in 2012. The Antinori family produce wine since 1385, but in recent years decided to show behind the scenes of their craft in an unusual way. After 26 generations, just 20 min from Florence, they created an architectural, contemporary wonder dedicated to lovers of wine and art. The winery has its Museum area divided into two areas. „Futuro Antico“ shows family’s art collection in modern surrounding succeeding in  fusing the old and the new. The „Artinori Art Project“ is dedicated to the visual arts of our time. Explore the wine cellar, dine in the restaurant "Rinuccio 1180” located on the rooftop of the winery, enjoy panoramic views and above all the wine.

Hot Spot of the city

The new hot spot of Florence is Niccolo 39. Contemporary chic is the portrayal of the interior as well as the food. It opened in September, but it already became one of the most distinguished places in the city. Even David Rockefeller celebrated here his 101st birthday. The whole place exudes a cozy vibe, from the small terrace out front to the covered garden and courtyard behind. The place is also called SO 39 and has its motto that can describe Florence as well: SOphisticated SO simple SO chic SO fresh SO healthy.
